Job Responsibilities

• Reading blueprints: Welders study and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to understand the project requirements
• Measuring and calculating: Welders calculate and measure the dimensions of parts to be welded
• Inspecting: Welders inspect materials and structures to be welded for quality
• Setting up: Welders set up components for welding, such as cutting material to match measurements
• Welding: Welders use power supplies and torches to weld materials together in various positions
• Monitoring: Welders monitor the welding process and adjust heat as needed
• Maintaining: Welders maintain and use specialized welding equipment and machinery
• Repairing: Welders repair holes, indentations, and seams in metal products
• Following safety regulations: Welders follow strict safety regulations and are alert to ensure safety

Experience

• Welder C 1-3 years
• Welder B 3-5 years
• Welder A 5-8 years
• All around Class 1 welder 8+ years

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
