Welders – Level II – 3 Openings!
Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 (depending on weld test results)
First Shift: 6:00 a.m. - Monday thru Thursday, 10-hour day shift with potential OT work on Fridays.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Completes tasks as assigned by supervisor or lead welder in a timely manner.
- Advanced understanding of fabrication requirements and company expectations related to complete package assembly and explaining to others effectively.
- Follow instructions from supervisors for project changes or job duties.
- Fabricate or prepare parts as needed by grinding, cutting, drilling, tacking, or welding.
- Fit-up package parts and weld out in standard time frame.
- Produce clean welds with minimal grinding or buffing.
- Keep work area clean and put tools away when finished with them.
- Train new employees in company product assembly and expectations.
- Takes responsibility for work area and mentor new employees.
- Accurately fills out timecards and jobs assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have passed 6G MIG welding test.
- Work towards passing 6G TIG welding test.
- Must demonstrate advanced level fit-up ability as evaluated by supervisor or QC.
- Must understand shop book drawings at an advanced level and be able to demonstrate to others effectively.
- No weld leaks in 180 consecutive days.
- Advanced understanding of welding machine settings and match to WPS.
- Welds must be visually acceptable and clean prior to any grinding or buffing.
- Advanced understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
- Using and reading levels, tape measures and other measurement devices accurately.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of at least 1-year of a formal apprenticeship or training program or,
- Completion of at least 2-year welding program from accredited entity.
- At least 4 years’ experience in a related field with no more than 1 year absence from welding activities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
